How To Adjust Printer Margins in Windows Mail Or Outlook Express

Problem: When I print an email from Windows Mail (Vista) or Outlook Express the letters along the left margin get cut off.

Cause: The margin settings for Windows Mail and Outlook Express are inherited from Internet Explorer.

Solution: To adjust or set the margins try this.

  1. Open Internet Explorer (IE)
  2. If using IE version 7 press the ALT key to show the menu (skip this step if using IE6)
  3. Click File / Page Setup
  4. Adjust the margins as you require
  5. Click OK

Now go back to Windows Mail or Outlook Express and try your print job again.

Does this work for IE8? I changed the margins to the right but it didn’t make a difference, perhaps i’m not shrinking the margins enough
