Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Now Available

Microsoft released Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Windows 7 last week. Users who have automatic updates switched on, will get this update automatically via the Windows Update service.

Users who wish to download the full service pack can do so from the Microsoft Download Center. This is especially handy if you need to deploy this update to multiple pc’s. The download page lists several files. Be sure to download the correct one.

Microsoft Security Essentials 2.0 Now Released

Microsoft has released an update to its free security product, Security Essentials. To date, Microsoft hasn’t published much information as to what it has improved in this version.

This new version will work on Windows XP, Vista & 7.

Microsoft Windows Phone 7 Sells 1.5 Million In 6 Weeks

Tech giant Microsoft is off to a flying start with sales of 1.5 million phone handsets using their Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system since the products release, only six weeks ago.

Microsoft is fighting hard for market share with its main rivals, Apple (iPhone) and numerous handset manufacturers using Google’s Droid operating system.

Consumers are now spoilt for choice in the smartphone market.
